“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

And these words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart:

And you shall teach them diligently to you sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.”

Deuteronomy 6:5-7

Sunday School

The Bible says that children are a heritage of the Lord (Psalm 127:3) Our mission here at First Presbyterian is to nurture children to know and love God.  It is our goal that they know that their strength comes from the Lord, and that when Christ is the head of their lives there can be joy and peace in the midst of all circumstances. We are excited about our innovative rotational approach to Sunday School learning experience and our highly acclaimed Awana program on Sunday afternoons.

In our youth and college age classes we strive for new approaches and action oriented learning. God reminds us in Isaiah 43:19 that He is constantly doing new things. We are mindful that we need to reach out to young people in a number of ways outside of the traditional Sunday School structure and we do so with Monday Night Bible Study, Wednesday Night Youth, Retreats and many more activities.

For our adult Sunday school classes we strive to nurture a church family atmosphere, which helps to bring adults into the maturity of Christ by studying and sharing God's word.  We lead our classes into spiritual growth by teaching them to be a Christ like example and witness to our community and those around them.  It is also our goal to strengthen the family unit by using the God' words to teach family values and help them to bring their families closer to one another and closer to God.
