And
while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the
Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for
the work to which I have called them.”
Then,
when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on
them, they sent them away.
Acts

Missions at our church range from supporting
recycling efforts in our community to praying for and funding
missionaries in Haiti. The First Presbyterian
Church Childcare Center, Inc. is a major local mission of our church
and is open to the entire community. We have embraced the
South Carolina Project Agape Foundation
lead by our minister’s wife “Jim which focuses on
Quemistan, Honduras. And, like all
churches in Mississippi we have been called to do our part to help our
fellow Mississippians devastated this past year
Hurricane Katrina. A long-term mission for
our church is the 2 Cents-A-Meal offering,
which helps to fund food banks through northeast Mississippi. A new
mission is Operation Soldier Care
where we have made donations to support two US Army battalions
in Iraq.
