Sewing for Missions
Have you been looking for an opportunity to serve?
Would you love to participate in mission work but are unable to travel?
Come join us sew for missions. We meet each month on either the second
or third Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until hunger or obligation cause
us to put everything away.
Such an abundance of fabric was donated for Honduras
that not all of it could be transported there last summer. Those of us
who were fortunate enough to travel to Quimistan were touched by the
critical need for clothing for the youngest children.
To help with this need and other needs that have
come to our attention, we are making simple clothing for the young
children in Quimistan, Honduras; baby sheets for our own Child Care
Center; and will even tear, roll and or knit bandages for PW. If you
have a special mission on your heart, bring your ideas to the group.
Sewing skills are not required. Some can cut out
fabric, some can sew on a machine, some can do hand sewing, we can all
enjoy each other’s company.
Bring your portable machine, scissors, simple
children’s patterns, or whatever you wish and a willing spirit and join
us in the “Upper Room”, third floor of the main church
building.
Feel free to call Susan Kuykendall, 324-3277 or
325-1083, for more information and to answer any questions.
