Men of the Church

The Men of the Church meet at 8:00 a.m. on the second Sunday of each month from September through May. Each meeting begins with fellowship time during a hearty Southern breakfast of eggs, meats, biscuits and grits. This is a tradition the men look forward to because the wives are not present to dissuade them from eating this good food. Following the meal, an inspirational speaker addresses the group.

The first organized meetings of Men of the Church date back to the 1920s. It is recorded that the world-famous “Chicken Cooking Team” has been cooking chickens and supporting Palmer Home for Children since 1946, the longest continuous activity sponsored by MOC.

The chicken cookers often sponsor FPC youth attendance at various events. In addition, MOC also supports a number of regional and global charities: Bill Glass Prison Ministries, the education of a girl in Honduras, assistance in founding new churches, CARE ministries for the Blind, Habitat for Humanity, French Camp Academy, and Chamberlain Hunt Academy.

All men of the church are invited to participate in these ministries.
