Special Services
During the course of the calendar year, special worship services are
offered at FPC. Some of these include
-
Maundy Thursday – a somber service
remembering the passion and sacrifice of our Lord on the eve of the Crucifixion. Communion is observed at this evening
service.
-
Easter Sunrise Service
– held amidst the beautiful setting of
Robinson Lake, this service is a gathering at sunrise to celebrate the
Resurrection of our Lord. Breakfast foods and beverages are provided and
casual attire is encouraged.

-
Kirking of the Tartan
– a traditional worship service emphasizing the Scottish heritage of the
Presbyterian Church features the ceremonial opening of worship by the
church beadle, bagpipers, and a chance to see our senior minister in his
kilt.
-
Joy
Gift – a
special musical program by the Chancel Choir is the feature of this
service, routinely held the first Sunday morning of December. A special
offering is taken to assist in the welfare of retired clergy in the
denomination.
-
Christmas Eve
– a candlelight service joyously commemorates the Savior’s birth as
families gather to celebrate this time of year. Christmas hymns and a
meditation in the form of a children’s Christmas story are featured.
Communion is observed at this evening service.
