Stewardship 2026
Dear Church Family,
As we enter our stewardship season and prepare our hearts to prayerfully consider our worship, giving, and serving commitments for 2026, I have been reminded of God’s great faithfulness to our church. In Psalm 126:3, the Psalmist writes, “The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad.” We have much to rejoice over in this time of transition. Through your faithful giving, serving, and praying, God has provided stability in our church finances and growth on Sunday mornings. Our weekly dinners and Bible studies have continued to grow thanks to the dedicated volunteers who prepare for dinner and lead Bible studies for our children, youth, and adults. I am also thankful for the growing desire God has put in each one of your hearts to grow in your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ! May God continue to grant FPC growth spiritually as more people begin to make FPC their church home.
Our stewardship theme for 2026 is Stewarding With a Whole Heart, and we do this by worshiping God wholeheartedly, giving cheerfully, and serving willingly. We are told by Jesus in Matthew 22:37-39, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. All your heart, all your soul, and all your mind means the totality of your life. I am asking the officers of FPC and each one of you to prayerfully consider your total commitment. How do we do this? First, our total commitment begins with our commitment to be present each Sunday in corporate worship. We learn in Acts 2:44-47 the practices of the early church. Look at these words.
44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people.
Three times in these verses the people who believed in God were said to be together. God designed us to live in community and gather together as His covenant community. Second, our total commitment involves making a commitment to give our tithes and offerings regularly and cheerfully. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 9:7, “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” Let us each consider how much we are able to give over the next year remembering how God has so richly blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3). Third, our total commitment involves determining how we want to serve others in the life of FPC. We are to serve willingly out of love for one another (Galatians 5:13).
Once you have prayerfully considered your worship, giving, and serving commitment for 2026, please complete the stewardship cards mailed to you. You can return your completed cards in the offering plate each Sunday or mail them to the church office. Thank you for your faithfulness and partnership in the Gospel, and may we continue to be faithful stewards of all the blessings which God has so richly blessed us.
By His Grace,
Dean
